Grief Support: You are Never Alone
While no one can fully understand the grief you feel in your heart, the support of others who have experienced a loss can be a comfort in your time of sorrow. Connect with others for one-time events or ongoing support for you or your children with one of the welcoming, understanding groups listed below.
GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face the challenges of loss and move toward rebuilding your life. The 13-week program supported by Piasecki-Althaus will run for the 5th year in 2017.
2017 GriefShare Session Dates:
Sessions are held each Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Next 13 Week Session: Begins August 2, 2017 and runs through October 25, 2017.
GriefShare takes place at the Piasecki-Althaus Family Services Center located at 2002 52nd Street in Kenosha. New members registration fee of $20.00 includes workbook. For returning members who have a workbook, the registration fee is only $10.00. Sessions are facilitated by certified grief coach Pastor Charlie Hansen and assisted by Anne Wasilevich. Free Event: Holiday GriefShare
A special one-time program will be held in November 2017. This event will focus on handling the holidays with a loss no matter how long it’s been. It takes place in the Piasecki-Althaus Family Services Center located at 2002 52nd Street in Kenosha. Facilitated by certified grief coach Pastor Charlie Hansen. Hospice Alliance, Inc. Social Support Group
A Social Support group meets monthly for lunch and informal conversation. Contact the bereavement department for times and locations. Visit Hospice Alliance, Inc. for more information.
The Compassionate Friends, Racine Chapter
A mutual self-help group welcoming all bereaved parents, no matter their child’s age, religion or cause of death meets the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. A Gathering of Angels

Visiting Nurse Association of Wisconsin Hospice
The Visiting Nurse Association of Wisconsin Hospice has a six-week “Coping With Grief” series that meets at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. Start dates are staggered throughout the year. Survivors of Suicide Support Group
A survivor of suicide is a family member or friend of a person who died by suicide. Kenosha County offers a support group for survivors of suicide held at the Piasecki Althaus Family Service Center, 2002 52nd Street, Kenosha, WI on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
