Elizabeth Benavides, age 98 of Kenosha, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Manor of Kenosha, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 17, 1920 in Big Wells, TX, she was the daughter of the late Rodrigo and Matilde (Garcia) Ceniceros.

On December 18, 1937 in Big Wells, TX, she married Alfredo Benavides. Sadly, after nearly 80 years of marriage, Alfredo preceded her in death on December 16, 2017.

Elizabeth was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her children.  With the gift of God’s love, she was always willing to spread that love to others. If you met Elizabeth, you would love her.

She was a member of Iglesia El Calvario. Elizabeth loved animals and gardening and she had a green thumb with her roses and other flowers.  She enjoyed reading and singing and she had such a beautiful voice.

Survivors include her children, Alfredo (Maureen) Benavides Jr., Robert (Annie) Benavides, David Benavides, Eddie Benavides, Enedelia “Nena” (Roy) Beck, Alicia (Bob) Beck, Aurora (Mark) Ristau, Maria Alma Joyce, Anna Ruth (Ramiro) Ponce, Diana Benavides, Ida B. Fish, and Sonia (Eddie) Ventura; 33 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rudy Ceniceros.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother, Rodrigo Ceniceros; and her daughter-in-law, Maria Benavides.
