I am incredibly saddened by Bob's passing. He was incredibly instrumental in my development into a leader, a husband, and a father. In 1986, I stepped onto the Ripon College Campus a shy, introverted high school junior from Clintonville. My goal that week at BBS was not to embarrass myself. That was my only goal. Bob was not my City Counselor, but he was a City Counselor in the same building. For some reason, Bob believed in me and my potential. Following that Boys State session, Bob would repeatedly reach out and encourage me throughout my senior year and for decades to come. When I applied to be an Assistant City Counselor in 1987, it was Bob who had my back and supported my application. I have attempted to pay things forward throughout the years by encouraging and supporting other BBS citizens and counselors to have more belief in themselves than they did when they first arrived to BBS. Bob was a true servant leader who modeled for us what we need to model for others. There is absolutely no way that I would be the man I am today if it were not for Bob Kaczmarek. I have so much intense respect, admiration, and loyalty for that man. He truly transformed the trajectory of my life and I will always be eternally grateful to him. Vicki and Lizzie, he loved you so much. Every year, on that first Friday of BBS, Bob and I would make a point to connect and talk about family. He loved, adored, and respected you both. Please keep the memories of Bob alive in your hearts and souls forever. As the tears continue to drip down my face as I write this, I am who I am today because of Bob's involvement in my life. God's peace to both of you and your entire family. - Dave Schuler
