Gertrude A. "Trudy" Sheehan

Service:

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.  Private inurnment will be held in St. Casimir Cemetery. 

Visitation:

A visitation for Trudy will be held at the funeral home, 3720 39th Avenue on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. 

Obituary:

Gertrude A. "Trudy" Sheehan, age 81, of Kenosha, died on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Hospitality Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Kenosha on October 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Zygmunt and Sophia (Perkowitz) Raczkowski.

Trudy was employed as an administrative assistant with Great Lakes Naval Base for 15 years, retiring in 1996.  Prior to Great Lakes, she was employed as a waitress and cook with Frank's Diner.  After Great Lakes, she was employed as an administrative assistant and scheduler with the Kenosha Achievement Center.

Trudy was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Casimir Catholic Church.  Trudy was an excellent cook and made many homemade specialties. An avid traveler, Trudy especially enjoyed taking trips to CA, NJ & NY.  She also loved listening to music, oil painting, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her three daughters, Carla Rae (Bruce) Johnson of San Diego, CA, Kathleen Ann (Jim Krzewinski) Belongia of West Bend, WI and Mary Beth (Anthony) Polentini of Huntley, IL; eight grandchildren, Laura (Mark Bernhardt), Lisa and Angela (Brian Palagallo) Koritsoglou, Lloyd Joseph (Amanda Bunch) and Matthew Paul (Heather Kaspar) Belongia; and Zachary Anthony, Nicholas Samuel and Megan Melissa Polentini; and six great-grandchildren, Sophia Ann Bernhardt, Audrey Grace Palagallo, Rocky Belongia, Logan Bunch, Hannah Rose and Miranda Marie Belongia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Raczkowski; and her granddaughter, Melissa Marie Belongia.

A special thank you to the staff of Hospice Alliance, Inc. and Hospitality Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the special care they provided to Trudy.
