Making Arrangements: What You Can Expect
After we are notified of a death, and when your family is ready, we will bring your loved one into our care and invite you to meet with us at a time convenient for you, in the warm, inviting atmosphere of the funeral home to discuss final arrangements. When we meet, we will require certain biographical information about your loved one in order to satisfy administrative and legal requirements, e.g. filling out a death certificate or processing claims for insurance or veteran's benefits.

We will need the following information about your loved one:

  • Full legal name
  • Date and place of birth
  • Father's name
  • Mother's maiden name
  • Social security number
  • Usual occupation & type of business
  • Place of employment
  • Marital status

If applicable, we will also require the following:

  • Spouse's (maiden) name
  • Date and place of marriage
  • Date of spouse's death
  • Military discharge papers (DD-214)
  • Declaration of Domestic Partnership (through state of WI)

We are also happy to assist you in preparing a death notice or obituary. Please bring a clear photograph for publication; it will be returned to you. (Please note, we are able to crop or recolor your photo. We cannot, by law, use photos with copyright.)

Final Disposition Options
Final disposition simply refers to what will happen to your loved one's body upon his or her death. We offer the following options: cremation, traditional and green burial, entombment or donation. We will gladly answer any questions you may have regarding these methods.

Service Options
In addition to a means of final disposition, you may elect a service option. The funeral service is a time to honor your loved one and a time for your family and friends to support you in your grief, extend their condolences and share memories. The cathartic effect and value of a funeral service is immeasurable. We encourage you to choose whatever service will be meaningful for you. We offer the following service options: visitation, memorial service, funeral home chapel service, church service and committal service at graveside or cemetery chapel.

We find the need for services is often underestimated when there is a strong financial concern. Especially in these crushing economic times, we understand financial considerations may impact your service selection. However, we are committed to providing the same level of service and compassion regardless of the options you select. Our general price list or pricing information is always available to you upon request in person or by phone, fax, or email. Please let us know how we may further support you in making these decisions.

Personalization Options
Allow us to reemphasize; we believe that every funeral service should be a celebration as unique as your loved one while incorporating the traditions that are important to you. One of the hallmarks of our unmatched service is the ways in which we contribute to personalizing your loved one's memorial, and we love hearing the stories behind your loved one's photographs, favorite music, hobby or trophy display, sports memorabilia, beloved car or motorcycle, military service, leisure and other special interests! We are happy to provide numerous modes of displaying your loved one's treasures. Please consider whether or not a bagpiper, other soloist/vocalist, dove or butterfly release or military honors would be the finishing touch on your loved one's lasting tribute.

Merchandise Options
There are many creative and beautiful ways to remember your loved one, and we offer an extensive array of funeral merchandise to meet every need and budget. We are happy to give you more information on burial or cremation caskets for purchase, ceremonial or "rental" caskets, burial or cremation vaults, urns and many more commemorative items.
